...God has called us into a ministry that keeps us both very busy traveling throughout the US. Doing 150 concerts a year and along with Kathy's Women's Conferences speaking engagements, we are always on the road and always reminded how great is our God! Our desire is to share the love and joy of Jesus Christ. You can learn more about this ministry at our websites, www.wadehammond.com and www.ourchurch.com/member/k/kathyhammond
Home is Hoover, Alabama and our church family is Gardendale's FBC. We are blessed with 5 children, 1 daughter-in-law, 1 son-in-law and 8 WONDERFUL grandchildren. We will try our best to keep you updated on the many blessings of our travels. Thank you for your prayers.

Turbulence

The last 3 weeks have been a whirlwind to say the least. We are aware the threat is always there for severe weather along the coastal states, especially the gulf this time of the year. We have literally been running from or right into hurricanes and tropical storms the last 3 weekends.....GUSTAV, HANNA and IKE. Yet we saw God move and lives have been changed for all of eternity.

Last Sunday morning we were in Conway, AR and IKE had moved through Saturday and Sunday morning. Practically the whole town had lost power except for a small area of where I was ministering at both morning services. Other area churches cancelled their services which resulted in a packed house with need of an overflow area. Amazing how God works sometimes, isn't it!

I had the priviledge of meeting Gov. Mike Huckabee's personal assistant, Wendy Dooley. Thank you Wendy for all that you do. People, please join us and pray for this election.

Well, Sunday evening after the concert, things took a different turn............ as I was loading up the car, I had taken Kathy's laptop out of the trunk and sat it on the ground and did I mention I was talking to people at the same time.........(multitasking, Hammond style). As I begin to back up, there was a noise and several thumps. Kathy opened the door and there was her laptop.......she was so upset, mainly because of family photos and other items. Needless to say, I was buying her a new laptop Monday morning...... God Bless
